About Altius
Altius started with one pre-med student with a dream. Altius founder, Dr. Lauren Curtis, was studying for the MCAT during his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University with hopes to get a good enough score to get into his dream school. He studied but the available materials were not preparing him for the MCAT the way he hoped they would. Lauren created his own study materials and strategies to prepare for the MCAT that ultimately proved effective when he got a near-perfect score.
Because of his high score and admission strategies, Lauren was offered admissions into every one of his dream schools including some of the highest-ranked programs of at the time. His success became known among other students struggling with MCAT prep, and he started offering his services to help them prepare too. Before too long, he was mentoring 30+ students and decided to delay his admissions into medical school to help others.
Today, Altius is one of the fastest growing companies in the education industry. We help premedical students prepare for and gain acceptance into medical school.
