Terms and Conditions

All students enrolled in any Altius tutoring or classroom course are granted a trial period. For students who enroll in a Long Track or Short Track programs, a 30-day trial period shall begin on the day Student makes their first partial or full payment toward program tuition. If, at any time during this trial period, Student decides they are not completely satisfied with the services provided to them by Altius, Student may cancel this agreement without penalty and receive a pro-rated refund equal to the purchase price minus the value of 1) any one-on-one tutoring services already received ($100 each) and 2) the cost of any AAMC practice material access codes assigned to Student. AAMC access codes become the property of Student the moment they are assigned to Student and cannot be reassigned to another student. The value of the AAMC access codes is never refundable under any circumstance. Student acknowledges full understanding that the trial period is a strict 30-day period beginning on the date of purchase. Many aspects of the program, such as practice tests and review sessions, do not occur until later in the program and so will not be available during the trial period. There is no guarantee whatsoever that all, most, or any of the program activities will be available during Student’s trial period.

The trial period for students enrolling in an Elite or Summer Immersion program shall begin on the first official day of class for that program and lasts for a strict 14-day period. During this trial period, if the Student is not completely satisfied with the services provided by Altius, they may cancel the agreement without penalty and receive a pro-rated refund. The refund will be the purchase price minus the value of: Any one-on-one tutoring services already received ($100 each), and The cost of any AAMC practice material access codes assigned to the Student. AAMC access codes become the property of the Student once assigned and cannot be reassigned to another student. The value of the AAMC access codes is non-refundable under any circumstance. Student understands that, as the trial period is only 14 days, many aspects of the program, such as practice tests and review sessions, may not be available during this time, as they typically occur later in the program. There is no guarantee that all, most, or any of the program activities will be available during the trial period.

Students enrolled in a Long or Short Track Mentoring Program receive a 90th Percentile Guarantee. If Student completes all aspects of the Altius program, including documentation of all fifteen (15) activities on the Student Accountability Tracking Sheet, all ten (10) of the Indicators of Success, and otherwise generally adheres to program indicators, and—after doing so – fails to receive at least a 90th percentile score, Student is eligible to attend program classes for the following track plus extended access to Altius online materials. Additional tutoring can be purchased at a discounted rate of $100 per hour. Students with partial adherence to the full Altius program do not qualify for this Guarantee.

Students enrolled in a Fall Accelerated or Summer Immersion Mentoring Program receive a 10 Point Improvement Guarantee. Altius guarantees a 10-point improvement between the student’s first full-length practice exam while enrolled in the Altius program and their final MCAT score. If Student completes all aspects of the Altius program, including documentation of all fifteen (15) activities on the Student Accountability Tracking Sheet, all ten (10) of the Indicators of Success, and otherwise generally adheres to program indicators, and—after doing so – fails to receive at least a 10-point improvement, Student is eligible to attend program classes for the following track plus extended access to Altius online materials. Additional tutoring can be purchased at a discounted rate of $100 per hour. Students with partial adherence to the full Altius program do not qualify for this Guarantee.

Students enrolled in an Elite Program receive a 1-Point Improvement Double Your Money Back Guarantee. Altius guarantees a 1-point improvement between the student’s first full-length practice exam while enrolled in the Altius program and their final MCAT score. If student completes all aspects of the Altius program, including 100% class attendance, Altius will refund twice their purchase price.

Once a student has passed their trial period, Altius will not issue a refund.

All Practice Tests and Self-Study Purchases are final and non-refundable.

Altius online materials are accessible to the Student for a period of 12 months (one year) from the date of purchase, or from the first official day of class for the program they have purchased. After this 12-month period, access to the materials will expire, and the Student will no longer be able to view or use the content. It is the responsibility of the Student to utilize the materials within this time frame. Altius may offer extensions to the access period for an additional fee to be determined by  Altius Management at the time of request.

Altius offers flexible payment plan options at its sole discretion, including:

All payment plans require a valid debit or credit card. The Student hereby authorizes Altius to schedule and process automatic payments according to the selected plan, with the first payment due immediately and subsequent monthly payments charged to the same debit or credit card.

The offering of any payment plan does not reduce or alter the Student’s responsibility to pay the full tuition amount. By enrolling in any Altius program and continuing beyond the trial period, the Student agrees to pay the entire tuition balance in full. No individual circumstance, including but not limited to, inability to participate in program activities, absence from classes, or physical relocation, shall alter the Student’s obligation to pay the full tuition amount due for the program in which they are enrolled.

Once the student is enrolled, tutoring credits are allocated based on the purchased program. Attendance at any session will constitute use of one credit. If Student is late to a session or has to leave early, they will still be charged one full credit. Should a session be started late or ended early at the fault of the Altius Tutor, Student is entitled to receive the remainder of the 1-hour session, plus an additional ½ hour of tutoring, at a later time agreed upon by Student and their Tutor.

Every tutoring credit purchased has an expiration date. It is the sole responsibility of Student to ensure that they have scheduled and used all available tutoring credits before they expire.

In the event that Student is unable to attend their scheduled tutoring appointment, Altius will allow Student to reschedule said appointment for another day and time as long as Student notifies their assigned tutor within twenty-four hours (24) prior to the scheduled appointment. If Student fails to provide the required twenty-four hour notice, or fails to appear at the tutoring session, Student will lose the value of that day’s tutoring session credit. Rescheduling is done at the sole discretion of the assigned tutor.

Each MCAT preparation program offered by Altius includes a set number of classroom sessions of various kinds, such as Group Sessions, Mastery Sessions and Small Group Tutoring. Student is guaranteed that all sessions pertaining to their program will be held during their period of enrollment. This may not be the case if Student enrolls outside of the suggested enrollment window and begins the program after the normal start date. There is no guarantee that Altius will be able to present all sessions on a day and time that accommodates Student’s schedule. When multiple installments of each session are offered, Altius reserves the right to cancel some installments if attendance is low. Additionally, classroom sessions may be held online in some locations based on local regulations and tutor availability.

Students may wish to purchase additional tutoring session credits. Additional sessions may be purchased at a discounted rate for students enrolled in a Program:
(Platinum, Gold, Silver, Elite) – $100 per tutoring session.

Self-Study Students – $175 per tutoring session.

Student understands that all materials, methods, publications, software programs, all content displayed by or contained within any software program, all instruments and any other items—oral, written, audiovisual, or otherwise—constitute proprietary information owned solely by Altius and as such cannot be reprinted, used, shared, distributed or disseminated in any way whatsoever without express written consent from Altius. In consideration of access to the above described, Student agrees to not write, edit or publish MCAT preparation materials, or to mentor, teach, or otherwise engage in employment, or independent contract work, of any kind whatsoever with any Altius competitor, or to be self-employed in any such activities related to MCAT mentoring or test preparation, for a period of two (2) years from the date of their last interaction as Student or Mentor in any Altius program.

In consideration of participation in an Altius program, and/or use of Altius materials and resources, Student agrees to report final MCAT score to Altius upon request and provide verification of the same if requested. Student provides permission to Altius, its agents, subsidiaries, or representatives to publish Student’s score, name, and likeness in marketing, advertising, or related publications.

Altius reserves the right to refuse service to any person for any reason. If at any time Student is deemed by Altius staff to be disruptive to the program, abusive to other students, mentors, or is otherwise interfering with the smooth operation of the program, Altius may dismiss the student without a refund or any additional recourse.

If any portion, clause, or subsection of these terms and conditions is deemed by an arbiter or court of law to be invalid or unenforceable, such ruling shall not in any way limit the validity and enforceability of any other clause within this agreement.

These terms and conditions represent the complete agreement between Altius and Student. No other agreements, oral, written, implied, or otherwise, exist between these parties.
